Public Safety Memorial for Lt. Shuhandler
Thursday, January 28, 2010 was a shattering moment for many in the Gilbert community. Lt. Shuhandler was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop in the Fry’s parking lot at Val Vista and Baseline. We at ROCKET MEDIA feel even more close to the unfortunate events because of how close it happened to our office. On our way in to work, every day since Thursday, we have seen and given to the large memorial of flowers near our parking lot. Seeing this reminder each day has alerted us to the high level of love and respect our community has for each other, additionally the specific love and respect we all have for Lt. Shuhandler and his grieving family.
There will be a tribute motorcade down Val Vista Drive in honor of Lt. Shuhandler beginning at 5:15 pm, TODAY, Wednesday Feb 3rd, followed by a vigil at Public Safety Memorial at the Town Civic Center.
Residents are invited to line Val Vista Dr. and show their support for Lt. Shuhandler and all the men and women that serve our community. Please keep Lt. Shuhandler’s family and friends in your thoughts today as they publicly cope with their loss.
The Motorcade will proceed on the following route:
